The team of our restaurant travels all over our homeland, the Carpathian Basin to discover producers of special characteristics and sources of ingredients of a particular region in order to present its values. In accordance with MÁK’s traditions the restaurant’s executive chef, János Mizsei creates a progressive menu - inspired by the specialities of the ingredients he personally discovered and the people, stories as well as his own experiences behind them. The latest tasting menu is called ’THE EAST. It will be available in MÁK from 24th of April.
OUR JUICE PAIRING concept was born in an inspiring co-production with Anja Skrbinek, responsible for the fermentation bar programme at the two Michelin-starred Slovenian restaurant Hisa Franko. Our chef János Mizsei places a strong emphasis on fermented components, and the shelves of MÁK are stocked with a range of aged ingredients waiting to become part of a dish, giving our guests a special experience - so these components are also leading roles in our juice pairings. The end result is a unique, non-alcoholic beverage line that is a strong competitor to our biodynamically dominating wine pairings.
OUR BIODINAMIC ORGANIC WINE RANGE is based on less well-known, limited-bottle specialities from smaller wineries, some of which are not commercially available at all. The wines selected for the MÁK wine list are mostly biodynamic and organic, and are designed to harmonise with our chef's Scandinavian, acid-toned cooking style.
